Floating Crude Levels Rose 0.5% Last Week

The amount of crude oil held around the world on tankers that have been stationary for at least seven days rose by 419k bbl, or 0.5%, to 84.17m bbl as of 9 February, Vortexa data show.

  • Asia Pacific up 3.8% w/w to 43.17m bbl
  • Middle East up 82% w/w to 16.33m bbl; highest since November 2022
  • West Africa down 26% w/w to 7.26m bbl
  • Europe down 45% w/w to 2.23m bbl; lowest since February 2023
  • U.S. Gulf Coast down 97% w/w to 127.00k bbl; lowest since September
