Focus Turns To CNB Rate Decision, Monthly Budget Balance

  • The Czech National Bank (CNB) will announce its rate decision at 13:30BST/14:30CEST. All 21 economists polled by Bloomberg expect the Bank Board to cut the two-week repo rate by 50bp. The central bank will also publish the new macroeconomic forecasts and may provide some details on research into a new estimate of Czechia's r*.   • A new opinion poll conducted by Median agency showed that ANO remains the front-runner, with a support rate of 32.5%. Prime Minister Petr Fiala's ODS is in second place, backed by around 13% of respondents. TOP 09 and KDU-CSL would not make it past the 5% electoral threshold, if an election was held today.
  • Czechia's S&P Global Manufacturing PMI is expected to print at 46.7, with the data coming up at the bottom of the hour. Budget balance will be released later in the day at 13:00BST/14:00CEST.
