US TSYS SUMMARY: Following a relatively brief period of calm, markets may now
need to assess multiple emerging political and economic risks. US President
Donald Trump has ramped up his tariff threat against China, an aircraft carrier
and a bomber task force have been sent to the Middle East to counter an alleged
Iranian provocation, Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido has indicated that
he may seek military support from the US, and President Trump has stated his
unequivocal support for Israel following the recent Gaza rocket attacks.
- US Treasury futures pushed higher in the early morning and are now trading in
the middle of the day's of range. TYM9 currently trades at 123-25+.
- Eurodollar futures have rallied, with reds/greens slightly outperforming.
- There are no significant economic data releases today. Looking ahead, tomorrow
will see the release of the JOLTS job openings and consumer credit data for
March.
