GILT SUMMARY
GILT SUMMARY: Following yesterday's indicative votes in which parliament again
failed to rally around an alternative Brexit plan, PM Theresa May is holding a
crunch cabinet meeting to discuss potential solutions to the deadlock.
- Although May still hopes to get her deal passed, this prospect remains remote
as MPs on all sides of the debate dig in to their respective positions.
- The EU's chief Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier has warned that no-deal Brexit
is more likely by the day.
- Gilts have rallied this morning with yields 3-4bp lower on the day. Current
yield levels: 2-year 0.629%, 5-year 0.748%, 10-year 1.016%, 30-year 1.555%.
- The Jun-19 gilt future trades at 129.13 near the middle of the day's range.
- Short sterling futures are broadly 0.5-2.0 ticks higher.
- Next up on the data calendar is the Services and Composite PMIs for March,
