FED: FOMC made no changes to the key parts of the statement and held FFR
steady at 2.00% to 2.25% on a 9-0 vote, as widely expected.
- The IOER rate remained at 2.20%, with no further comments on future
policy regarding the setting of this rate.
- The only changes to the statement were to say the unemployment rate
"has declined" rather than saying "has stayed low" and that
business fixed investment "has moderated from its rapid pace earlier in
the year" rather than saying it has "grown strongly."
- The language regarding "further gradual" rate increases, longer-term
inflation expectations, and "roughly balanced" risks were not altered.
- Likewise, there was no change in the economic language regarding the
labor market, economic activity, job gains, household spending, or
inflation.
