CHINA: Foreign direct investment (FDI) in China rose 0.5% year-on-year in
Jan-Feb to CNY139.4 billion, compared with a climb of 0.3% y/y in Jan, the
Ministry of Commerce said on its website Thursday. In the first two months,
newly-established foreign companies rose 129.2% to 8848, lower than the 158.6%
hike in January. The main driver of FDI, the high-tech service sector, saw
investment increase 27.9% y/y, the Ministry said.
