FOREX SUMMARY

FOREX

A busy day for FX, but a steadier afternoon session, after cross asset, Govies and Equities reverse some of the one direction move we noted today.

  • Govies pullback from overbought territory, while Equities found a base ahead of the US cash open.
  • Trump said on Fox Business he'd go over $1.8trn on stimulus, but then says Pelosi has 'mental problems'. Says in something of a non sequitur that China has paid billions by devaluing their currency.
  • In Brexit news, Irish Foreign Minister hopes that by the start of November, a deal will be in sight.
  • EUR and GBP were unmoved with EURUSD now at 1.1700 and Cable at 1.1916.
  • NOK at one point overtook the Aussie as the worst performing currency in G10 against the Dollar, and was down 1.77%, but has since recovered, just down 1.29% at the time of typing.
  • PLN has stayed under pressure as Covid numbers in Europe and eastern Europe, plus the risk tilted to the downside has weighted.
  • USDPLN is 3.8880 at the time of typing
  • Looking ahead, ECB Lagarde, Fed, Bullard, Quarles, Kaplan, Barkin, and Kashkari are the speakers left for the day
