Four-Week Distillates, Gasoline Demand Trends Lower

US gasoline and distillates demand edged higher last week, while the four-week demand figures show a small drop in gasoline demand and slightly larger drop in distillates demand, EIA data showed.

  • Four-week gasoline demand edged down last week and remains slightly above 2022 levels as of 8 December at 8.503mbpd.
  • Distillates demand on a four-week basis continued to trade lower and remains below last year’s levels at 3.663mbpd, down from 3.747mbpd.
  • Including jet-fuels, combined demand was just 1% above 2022 levels and almost 1mbpd below the 2015-2019 average.
    • US gasoline crack up 0.5$/bbl at 15.38$/bbl
    • US ULSD crack up 0.4$/bbl at 37.3$/bbl
