Frac Count Suggests Completion Activity Could Have Bottomed: Bloomberg  

  • The Primary Vision frac count rose by eight to 198 in the week ended Feb 7, suggesting the recent string of declines may have abated following the seasonal winter slowdown.
  • This came as Baker Hughes reported an increase of four in the rig count, implying that drilling may have also bottomed. The increased included two in the Pemian Basin and one each in the Marcellus and Williston Basins.
  • Bloomberg forecasts a year-end frac count og 250 active fleets, up 26% from recent levels, reflecting their belief that the recent drop may have been temporary with a recovery from a two-year downturn underway.
