FRANCE: To Submit Fiscal Plans To EC By October 31 - FT

France has told the EC that it will submit its 2025 Draft Budgetary and medium-term fiscal-structural plans by October 31, according to the FT. 

  • The 10-year OAT/Bund spread hasn’t seen a material widening in reaction to the story, with the MNI Policy Team having already reported that France was not likely to meet the EC’s October 15 deadline last week.
  • The spread nonetheless remains ~2.5bps wider today at 78bps, due to ongoing uncertainty around the stability of PM Barnier’s new cabinet and the weak flash PMIs released earlier today.
