Freeport Cancelled Cargo Loading On Restart Issue

LNG

The Freeport LNG export plant in Texas has cancelled at least one scheduled shipment, after one production train was damaged during start up according to people with knowledge of the matter.

  • Freeport was also forced to load less gas than planned on another vessel over the weekend.
  • Part of one of the production trains was damaged during restart earlier this month, curbing output, one of the people said.
  • The latest issue at Freeport may limit some LNG supply into the market, while the facility has still been exporting at reduced rates.
  • The plant still requires approval to resume other parts of the facility, such as one of the tanks and its second dock.
