French FM: Nuclear Deal 'Negotiation Advances Way Too Slow'

IRAN

French Foreign Minister Yves Le Drian, speaking in Brest, France after an EU foreign ministers meeting voices his concerns about the talks in Vienna on the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA, the Iran nuclear deal). Le Drian states that “This negotiation advances way too slow ... • The EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Josep Borrell voiced a more sanguine outlook, stating that it is still possible for diplomacy to find a resolution to the issue.
  • The latest round of talks will continue in Vienna over the weekend, with expert-level talks taking place while top negotiators return to their capitals to make consultations. They will then return on Monday to continue the talks.
