French Foreign Ministry Confirms E3+1 Meeting On Iran Tomorrow

IRAN

The French Foreign Ministryhas released a statement confirming that it will host an E3+1 meeting with the foreign ministers of Germany, the UK and the US tomorrow in Paris to discuss Iran and regional security in the Middle East.

  • US Secretary Anthony Blinken to join via videolink.
  • Meeting comes as Iranian gov't continues to enrich uranium beyond the levels set out in the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA).
  • Despite denials of involvement from Tehran, there is also suspicion of involvement of Iran in the rocket attack on a Coalition airbase in northern Iraq earlier this week that killed a civilian contractor and wounded a member of US service personnel. The attack has been claimed by insurgent groups believed to have links to Iran.
