POWER: French Nuclear Output to Fall 16% M/M in March

French nuclear power generation is forecast to fall by 16% on the month to 40GW in March due to a decline in nuclear fleet availability due to seasonal maintenance according to BNEF. 

  • French nuclear fleet availability is expected at 70% in March, compared with 77% in February.
  • French nuclear power generation is expected to average 39.5GW in summer 2025, which would be 5% higher on the year.
  • Winter 2025/26 nuclear generation is forecast to average 45.3GW, up by 10.2% year on year.
  • BNEF forecasts French nuclear generation to total 368TWh in 2025, in line with EdF’s 2025 output forecast of 350-370TWh.
