Front End Steady After SARB Hikes +25bp, Curve Steepens W/w

  • SAGBs start the week on slightly softer footing, having closed Friday's session broadly mixed following Thursday's SARB meeting.
  • W/w the SAGB curve closed bear steeper with 10-30Y yields closing +11-15bp higher, while the front end stayed mostly anchored on guidance towards a gradual hiking cycle from the MPC.
  • 10Y yields are currently hovering a fraction below key resistance at 10.00, while 30Y yields pulled back from a move above 10.70 on Friday.
