FTSE Hit As GBP Gains

A choppy trading session for the major indices, with S&P futures now unch over the past 24 hours, and Eurostoxx fading early Thurs gains. The FTSE is underperforming, reflective of the negative impact of stronger Pound Sterling (post BoE decision).

Asian stocks closed mixed, with Japan's NIKKEI down 96.7 pts or -0.43% at 22418.15 and the TOPIX down 4.83 pts or -0.31% at 1549.88. China's SHANGHAI closed up 8.898 pts or +0.26% at 3386.463 and the HANG SENG ended 163.05 pts lower or -0.65% at 24930.58.

European equities are mixed, with the German Dax up 15.87 pts or +0.13% at 12671.63, FTSE 100 down 46.61 pts or -0.76% at 6020.64, CAC 40 down 0.94 pts or -0.02% at 4902.56 and Euro Stoxx 50 down 9.04 pts or -0.28% at 3259.08.

U.S. futures have edged a little higher, with the Dow Jones mini up 58 pts or +0.21% at 27109, S&P 500 mini up 3.25 pts or +0.1% at 3319.5, NASDAQ mini up 5.5 pts or +0.05% at 11097.
