------------------------------------------------------------------------
An increase in of fuel imports from non-EU countries in November,
along with a sizeable upward revision to the October trade gap, saw the
trade deficit widen by stg0.5bn in November. Imports of crude oil were
up 18.4% m/m in November, countering a 14.8% m/m rise in fuel exports.
Imports of unspecified goods and machinery also contributed to the
November deficit widening. The trade gap would have to fall to stg0.8bn
in Dec for the deficit to come in flat in Q4, although monthly trade
data are not adjusted for price variations and are not directly
