Funding Minister Sees Government on Track to Secure EU Funding

HUNGARY
  • Development Minister Navracsics spoke this morning, stating that the informal feedback he’s received from the EU suggests they are content with the government’s commitments to get a deal on EU funding payouts. He added that the government are progressing well through the 17 commitments necessary including measures on corruption risk legislation.
  • Elsewhere, finance minister Varga spoke this morning, stating that Hungary may avoid recession next year, and return to a growth path of circa 4% from 2024 onwards, if policy is correct.
  • NBH deputy governor Virag is to speak on monetary policy later today at the Budapest Economic Forum, with his comments due at 3.30pm local time (1430BST).
