CHINA:  Futures Lower Despite Liquidity Injection from OMO.

  • China’s bond futures are lower at midday today despite the open market operations resulting in a CNY84bn liquidity injection.
  • China’s 10YR bond future is down -.21 to 108.24 whilst the 2YR future is down -0.2 to 102.56.
  • The 10YR future’s sell off has pushed it to the mid-point between the 50-day EMA of 108.61 and the 100-day EMA of 108.02.
  • The 2YR future has broken through all key technical levels and sits below the 200-day EMA of 102.63.
  • The futures sell off is aligned with the strong rally in equities today as the Hang Seng leads other key China equity bourses higher, rising by 2.2%.
  • Government bond yields are 1 bps higher across the curve.
