Gains Trimmed Into Close, BOJ Due Today

NZD/JPY rose as much as ~1% yesterday, as an uptick in US Tsy Yields weighed on the Yen, before trimming gains into the close to finish ~0.5% higher.

  • In early trade today we sit at ¥88.65/70, well within the recent ¥88/90 seen in recent dealing.
  • Bulls focus on the 20-Day EMA (¥89.26), a break through here opens the high from Dec 7 (¥90.77) and 2023 high (¥91.38).
  • On the downside bears look to break the ¥88 handle which opens the 200-Day EMA (¥87.38) and the ¥86 handle.
  • A reminder that the latest monetary policy decision from the BOJ is due today.
