Galveston Bay Gasoline Unit Shut After Fire

The gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracker (FCC) at Marathon's 593kbpd Galveston Bay refinery in Texas City, Texas, was shut after a fire on Thursday night, sources familiar with the plant said.

  • The fire broke out in the regenerator of the 140kbpd FCC.
  • In mid-August, the firm was restarting the 105kbpdn CFHU unit at the refinery after a leak caused a shutdown of the unit on 11 August.
