Gasoil Net Longs Lowest Since Nov 2020

OIL

Managed money net long positions in crude and gasoil decreased with ICE Gasoil falling to the lowest since Nov 2020.

  • Net longs positions have been gradually trending lower this year on low liquidity and increasing demand concerns although crude positions have stabilised in recent weeks. Uncertainty over supplies from OPEC and with Russian sanctions have provided some support to crude prices over the last week.
  • Nymex WTI net longs fell by -23k to 170k.
  • ICE Brent net longs fell by -4k to 158k.
  • ICE Gasoil fell by -3k to 44k.
  • Nymex diesel increased by +4k to 12k.
  • Nymex gasoline unchanged at 52k.
