FOREX: GBP ends the week as the weakest G10 currency and is likely to remain
vulnerable in the coming week given the risk events on the horizon. Data risks
include housing market indicators, consumer surveys and industrial production
ahead of the BoE meeting. The MNI UK Data Team calculate there is a risk the BoE
will have to revised its growth projections for the year significantly lower at
the upcoming MPC meeting given weakness of Q1 GDP data. The UK construction
output data this coming week could also grab attention given this has been a
source of weakness in the UK growth picture. The MNI Data Team point out that
the UK Construction PMI is still suggesting contraction in the sector.
