STERLING
STERLING: GBP has ignored suggestions that the EU will cancel an upcoming Brexit
meeting owing to a lack of topics to discuss. It has also paid little attention
to conflicting views from the opposition Labour party re: Brexit.
- Cable has stuck to a tight range last at 1.4075, with EURGBP virtually
unchanged 10 or so pips higher at 0.8755.
- The only domestic GBP risk event of note on the calendar on Thursday is the
final Q4 GDP release.
- Focus may therefore full on global risk sentiment, Brexit developments (if
any) & dollar flows into month/quarter end ahead of the elongated holiday
weekend.
