GBP Position Deteriorates to Largest Net Short in 12 Months

  • Friday's CFTC data showed markets most notably sold GBP on net in the week leading up to Nov 19th, with CFTC net position dropping by close to 8% of open interest. This leaves markets at the largest net GBP short of the past 12 months. EUR net position also slightly deteriorated, but by a minor 1.1%.
  • Conversely, markets sharply built CHF longs, resulting in the net short CHF position dropping to 18% from 33.1% of OI. The CFTC report also saw the JPY, AUD, NZD and CAD positions improve.
