CABLE: GBP/USD last trades at $1.2680, 6 pips better off, after slipping 15 pips
yesterday.
- Bears look to the May 31 high/Jun 4 low of $1.2645/42, with bulls targeting
the 100-HMA & 200-HMA, which coincide at $1.2699.
- The first round of Tory leadership votes saw Boris Johnson take a major lead
with 114 votes, while the runner-up Jeremy Hunt secured support of 43 Tory MPs.
Three contenders - Mark Harper, Andrea Leadsom and Esther McVey - were
eliminated from the race, as they failed to convince at least 17 MPs to back
them. The next round of voting is scheduled for Tuesday.
- Press reports have suggested that Johnson's rivals might join forces to try
and prevent him from winning.
- UK focus today remains on Brexit matters & the Tory leadership contest.
