GERMAN DATA
MNI (London)

GERMANY MAR GFK CONSUMER CONF -30.5 (= FCST); FEB -33.8r

  • German consumer confidence is projected to recover for a fifth consecutive month in the GfK March outlooks, up 3.3 points at -30.5, in line with consensus expectations.

  • Despite the continued improvement, overall confidence remains muted.
The propensity to buy subindex only improved marginally as uncertainty and living costs remain elevated.
  • As such, the data does not yet imply a rebound in consumer spending appetite.
