German Gas Demand Fell 20.1% Below Average Last Week

German natural gas consumption stood 20.1% below the 2018-2021 average last week, Bnetza data showed.

  • Demand fell by 4.6% week on week, driven by lower consumption from households and businesses. Industrial demand picked up week on week.
  • German gas storage reserves stood at 77.75% of capacity as of 13 June, up from 76.08% a week earlier, AGSI data showed.
  • German already surpassed its gas storage target of 75% of capacity by 1 September.
