German Gas Demand Fell 25.2% Below Average Last Week

German natural gas consumption declined by 2.5% week on week and stood at 25.2% below the 2018-2021 average in calendar week 28, Bnetza data showed.

  • Gas demand from industry edged up week on week to 1.02TWh, compared with 1.01TWh a week earlier. Consumption from households and small businesses declined to 171GWh last week, down from 208GWh a week earlier.
  • German gas storage reserves stood at 84.67% on 18 July, up from 82.94% a week earlier.
