German Gas Demand in July Stood 22.3% Below 2018-21 Average

German total natural gas consumption in July stood at 1,187GWh/d, 22.3% below the 2018-21 average, Bnetza data showed.

  • Total natural gas demand also declined month on month from 1,340GWh/d in June.
  • Gas consumption last week stood 19.02% below the 2018-2021 average. Demand last week fell by 3.77% week on week, driven by a decline in industrial gas demand.
  • German gas stocks stood at 88.2% as of 31 July, compared with 86.03% a week earlier, AGSI data showed.
