German Gas Demand Last Week 26.3% Below 2018-21 Average

German gas consumption last week stood 26.3% below the 2018-21 average and declined by 22.6% week on week, largely because of milder weather, Bnetza data show.

  • Temperature-adjusted gas demand last week stood 11.6% below the average.
  • German gas reserves stood at 63.89%, or 159.6TWh, of capacity on 21 March, compared with 64.12% a week earlier, AGSI data show.
  • Germany saw modest gas storage injections for three days in the past week. Net withdrawals in the past seven days 14-21 March average 103.1 GWh/d. Net injections over the weekend averaged 326.2 GWh/d.
