German June Power Trades Rangebound
POWER
German June power base load is trading rangebound as muted demand, lower European carbon allowances and coal prices are weighed against small gains in European gas prices and forecasts for low wind output. German June power peak load is pulling back as forecasts for solar PV remained high.
- Germany Base Power JUN 24 up 0.2% at 66.07 EUR/MWh
- Germany Peak Power JUN 24 down 2% at 59.5 EUR/MWh
- EUA DEC 24 down 0.4% at 69.8 EUR/MT
- TTF Gas JUN 24 up 0.2% at 30.315 EUR/MWh
- Rotterdam Coal JUN 24 down 2% at 109.25 USD/MT
- German front-month base-load prices are trading well in this week’s range of €64.74/MWh to €67.75/MWh. Prices are currently tracking a weekly net decline of almost 5%.
- German combined onshore and offshore wind output is forecast to decline to 3.6GW during base-loud hours at the end of next week. Solar PV output is forecast to remain relatively high on 18 to 26 May at 13-22.23GW during peak-load hours, likely pressuring peak-load prices.
