OIL
The German refinery PCK Schwedt received its first cargo of European crude oil via the port of Gdansk, a spokesperson for the German Economy Ministry told Bloomberg.
- Germany is in contact with the Polish government to increase the quantities delivered from Gdansk, the spokesperson said.
- The cargo received for PCK Schwedt is in addition to the Leuna refinery, which receives more than 50% of its crude oil the port.
- “This gives our two north-eastern refineries another alternative supply route for non-Russian crude oil”, the spokesperson said.
- Earlier this year, Polish refiner PKN Orlen said it is interested in taking a controlling stake in the PCK Schwedt refinery.
