German Spot Price Rallies on Low Wind

  • The French Epex Spot day ahead base load fell to €19.59/MWh, from €32.21/MWh for Wednesday delivery.
  • French wind output is forecast to fall slightly to 5.86GW during base load on Thursday. French power demand is forecast to fall to a maximum of 49.8GW on Thursday, compared with an expected peak of 50.55GW today. French nuclear availability stood at 70% of capacity as of Wednesday morning, down from 75% at the start of the week.
  • The Dutch Epex Spot day ahead base load rose to €86.07/MWh, from €67.85/MWh the day before.
  • Dutch wind output is forecast to decline sharply on Thursday to 1.54GW during base load. Dutch power demand is forecast to rise to peak of 15.29GW on Thursday, up from a maximum of 14.78GW today.
