German Storage Better but Not Good Enough

NATURAL GAS

Klaus Muller from the German Federal Network Agency says gas storage is now 53% full, “which is better than in previous years but not good enough.”

  • Nord Stream is today nominated at just 48.85GWh/h compared to max levels of approximately 73GWh/h due to a scheduled regular internal inspection of the pipeline. The inspection is creating variable partial capacity restrictions until 17th June.
  • A full planned maintenance outage is expected between 11th and 21st Jul during which time Muller expects “no filling of storage.”
  • In an auction last month, Germany secured about 48TWh of gas for storage and plans another auction for 35.7TWh on Tuesday.
