Germany Greenlights Mukran LNG Terminal

The German government and Deutsche ReGas have signed an agreement to develop an LNG in Mukran at the island of Ruegen, Deutsche ReGas said.

  • ReGas will become a sub-charterer of the floating storage and regasification unit called Transgas Power, which would be deployed in Mukran harbor along with another vessel Neptune.
  • Transgas Power has a regasification capacity of 7.5bcm/yr and can store 174,000 cubic meters of LNG.
  • The marketing of the available long-term regasification capacity will start 29 June.
  • The planned terminal was previously eyed to be installed in Lubmin.
