/Germany: Poland Reiterates Call On Germany To Boost Support For Ukraine

Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki used his visit to Berlin to reiterate his call on the German government to accelerate the transfer of "all kinds of weapons" to Ukraine.

  • The politician criticised Western countries for building close business relations with Russia in the lead-up to the war in Ukraine and emphasised the gravity of security threats posed by Russian imperialism.
  • German dpa news agency reported that the Bundeswehr has begun dislocating Patriot missile defence systems to Poland, which should be completed within days. Berlin will also transfer one Patriot battery to Ukraine.
  • This comes amid the news that German Defence Minister Christine Lambrecht announced her resignation amid criticism of her handling of the military against the backdrop of the war in East Europe.
