POWER

Germany is expected to present its delayed power plant strategy before the summer break, economic minister Robert Habeck said on Thursday, cited by Reuters.

  • "We are down to the small print," Habeck said.
  • "The EU Commission also wants to finish," he added.
  • The country plans to issue tenders for 10GW of gas-fired capacity which can be later converted into hydrogen facilities.
  • First tenders are expected to take place later this year. All tenders are expected to be issued by 2026.
  • The delay was due to disagreements on subsides for future plants, Habeck said.
