Germany Warns Of Bottlenecks, Higher Prices Amid Russian Oil Ban

Germany warns of potential supply disruptions and an increase in oil prices, when the import ban on Russian crude oil starts next month, the government said in Parliament.

  • “The effects of reduced output, when operating at a part load at the PCK Schwedt and TRM Leuna refinery, as a result of the stop to Russian crude oil deliveries, will be regarding the substituting quantities demanding, but manageable”, the government said.
  • Germany has ordered the refiners to maximise stock levels and is in talks with Poland to find a long term supply solution for the Schwedt refinery.
  • “Depending on the scenario, temporarily, locally supply disruptions and increases in prices cannot be ruled out", it added.
