Germany’s DET Awarded Permit for Brunsbüttel FSRU: Platts

Germany LNG terminal operator DET has been granted provisional approval to continue operating the FSRU at Brunsbüttel, according to Platts.

  • "This means that the continued operation of the FSRU in Brunsbüttel at its current berth is formally approved up to and including Feb. 15, 2026," DET said, cited by Platts.
  • This was the third FSRU to become operational in Germany, starting up in March 2023. It has since sent out 1.5 Bcm.
  • The terminals import capacity is expected to be expanded to 7.5 Bcm/y. Import capacity was 3.5 Bcm/y in 2023.
