GILTS: Gilts opening modestly higher but are slowly giving up those gains as I
type as initial risk-off sentiment fades and markets turn their attention to UK
data and comments from PM May and BoE Tenreyro. UK 10-yr Gilt yield is 0.6bp
lower at 1.178% with yield curve modestly flatter as short-end remains anchored.
- UK PM May is scheduled to give a speech in Northern Ireland later and is
expected to tell the European Union it is time to drop what she feels is their
inflexible view on an Irish border solution and "evolve" their position to break
the impasse in Brexit talks.
- At 0930BST the latest public sector borrowing numbers for June cross the wires
 which expectations that they continue to show lower borrowing than a year ago.
- Finally BoE MPC member Tenreyro is being interview by the London's Evening
Standard
- Short sterling futures are steady to 1 tick higher across the strip
