Gilts sell off and pound rallies on hawkish Saunders

Saunders sounding much more hawkish than expected as he discusses whether he might vote for an early end to asset purchases in the next couple of months.

  • Gilt futures move to the days lows, down almost 40 ticks to hit 129.02. Biggest support at 128.54/39 Low Jul 14 / High Jun 11 and recent breakout level.
  • Cable spikes to 1.3876, following Hawkish comments from BoE. Further upside traction for Cable opens to 1.3900 initially. A clear break above the latter, would open to MNI Tech resistance 1.3937 50-day EMA
