Glapinski Says Sharp Disinflation Expected After Q1, He Sees Price Growth At +6% Y/Y In Dec

Governor Adam Glapinski says that "we are approaching this inflection point at the end of the plateau" and hopefully inflation will sharply decelerate after Q1, adding that the March economic projections will bring more clarity.

  • He says inflation in Q4 should be around +8% Y/Y, notes that he personally expects that inflation could be +6% Y/Y in December.
  • Glapinski cites research suggesting that inflation of up to +5% Y/Y is generally not noticed by consumers, which means getting to +6% would be seen as a big achievement.
