Glapinski Says That Rate Hikes Are Less Likely But It's Too Early To Discuss Cuts

PAP newswire reports that NBP Governor Adam Glapinski wrote in a letter to the participants of the Banking Forum in Warsaw that a resumption of rate hikes by the central bank is becoming less probable, but it is too early to discuss rate cuts at this stage.

  • "Considering inflation projections, further rate hikes are becoming less likely, but it is too early to discuss rate cuts. We need to be confident that inflation will ease in a sustainable manner. It should be added that the current level of interest rates is appropriate."
