Global Airline Passenger Capacity Falls 0.21% on Week: OAG

Global airline passenger capacity is set to rise to 123.36m seats in the seven days commencing from July 29, OAG said.

  • This is a fall of 0.21% on the previous week. The net fall of 261k seats is the first weekly net loss since May 13. This may imply that summer demand is now peaking.
  • Despite the week-on-week fall, this week’s capacity is above the forward schedule expectations by 0.12%.
  • Domestic capacity is down 0.04% on the week at 71.73m seats.
  • Meanwhile, international capacity has fallen by just 0.11% to 51.63m seats.
