Global Equities Remain Firm as Techs Point Higher

S&P E-Minis traded higher last week, extending the current bull cycle. Price has moved through resistance at the 20-day EMA - a bullish development. This highlights scope for a continuation higher that would expose the key resistance. Eurostoxx 50 futures build on the recent firm tone and the contract has traded higher to top the bull trigger. Recent gains have resulted in a breach of the 20-day EMA, resistance at 4990.00, as well as the bull trigger at 5079.00, Apr 2 high.

  • Japan's NIKKEI closed higher by 176.6 pts or +0.46% at 38356.06 and the TOPIX ended 6.87 pts higher or +0.25% at 2730.95.
  • Elsewhere, in China the SHANGHAI closed lower by 2.247 pts or -0.07% at 3145.774 and the HANG SENG ended 41.35 pts lower or -0.22% at 19073.71.
  • Across Europe, Germany's DAX trades lower by 35.65 pts or -0.19% at 18706.64, FTSE 100 higher by 12.84 pts or +0.15% at 8430.65, CAC 40 down 3.79 pts or -0.05% at 8204.77 and Euro Stoxx 50 down 5.83 pts or -0.11% at 5072.82.
  • Dow Jones mini up 15 pts or +0.04% at 39573, S&P 500 mini up 1.5 pts or +0.03% at 5246.75, NASDAQ mini up 7.25 pts or +0.04% at 18301.25.
