Global Implied Jet Fuel Demand to Fall 1.6% on the Week: BNEF

Flight schedules from March 19-26 imply a 1.6% fall in jet fuel demand on the week to 6.1m b/d, according to BNEF.

  • All regions are set to see consumption levels fall, with Western Europe and North America leading the decline, registering falls of 40.6k b/d and 12k b/d respectively.
  • In China, the number of domestic flights is set to grow by over 30% over the next four weeks, based on current schedules. However, these are subject to last minute changes.
  • Jet fuel prices across key hubs rose on the week, up 0.6% in Asia and 2.2% in the USA.
