Global LNG Imports and Export Both Fall in Week to June 9: BNEF

Global LNG imports fell 7% in the week to June 9 to 6.54m metric tons, according to BNEF led by a drop in JKCT.

  • Imports to Japan fell 0.55 and South Korea 0.25m tons to take the Japan, South Korea, mainland China and Taiwan region to the lowest since November. Southeast Asia imports however rose 0.26m tons to a record high.
  • Imports to NW Europe and Italy fell by 0.09m tons but other Europe imports rose by 0.21m tons.
  • Global LNG exports also fell by 5% to 7.52m tons. Australian output dropped by 0.22m tons and US exports fell by 0.11m tons with a restart at the Gorgon facility. Qatar output increased by 0.33m tons and Russia rose by 0.08m tons.
