LNG

Global LNG imports are forecast to rise by 9% in November month on month, amid rising heating demand in North Asia, Bloomberg’s monthly LNG report shows.

  • Imports are estimated at 33.7mn t in November, up from 31.1mn t in October. LNG imports are forecast to rise until January up to 36mn t.
  • Global LNG supply is expected at 34mn t for this month, at parity with October.
  • The expected return of Freeport LNG should boost output in the US and the return of Prelude from maintenance in mid November is expected to boost Australian output. Outages in Malaysia, Nigeria and Qatar will weigh on production.
  • European imports are expected to decline by 6% compared with October levels in November, as the region has secured sufficient gas inventories for the upcoming heating period. Imports into Northwest Europe and Italy totalled 1.3mn t between 31 October and 6 November, 14% lower compared with the same period a month earlier, Bloomberg's LNG Trade Weekly data show.
