Global Passenger Jet Fuel Demand To Rise Eighth Consecutive Week

Global passenger jet fuel demand is set to climb for the eighth consecutive week this week to 5.66mbpd according to BNEF.

  • Based on the flights scheduled from March 21 to 27, global passenger jet fuel demand is set to inch up by 0.4% to 5.66mbpd.
  • The uptick is primarily driven by Asia, the Middle East and North Africa.
  • Demand in Eastern and Western Europe, and North America is also slated to rise, while all other regions are on course for a weekly drop.
  • Jet fuel demand from China is expected to pick up in the coming weeks. Jet fuel demand for international flights relative to the week starting 14 March will rise by more than 513 flights a week to over 1,455 flights by the first week of April. However, this may not materialize due to flight cancelations.
